Not Of The Will Of Man

John 1:11: He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

James 1:18: Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

We are not saved by our own works or by the works of other men. The will of men and the work of men are involved in water baptism, confirmation, first communion, church attendance and communion services. Those truths totally eliminate those things as a means of Salvation. Salvation is of the will of God, the work of God and the power of God.

Ephesians 2:8: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Colossians 2:10: And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

John 14:6: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Romans 1:16: For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Psalms 37:39: But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.

God does work through men to bless other men. They can preach the gospel and quote the Bible to other men, they can be ambassadors for Christ and they can beseech other men to be reconciled to God.

1 Corinthians 1:21: For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

2 Corinthians 5:20: Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ*s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

1 Thessalonians 2:4: But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

Believers have been put in trust with the gospel, the good news. But the passage does NOT say that they have been put in trust with salvation itself. We must believe the word of the gospel that is spoken by men and we must believe in God Himself. We are not saved because of the will of men or the works of men. We can trust men to preach the gospel, be ambassadors of Christ, to beseech us to be reconciled to God and some other things, but we must not trust men for salvation itself.

Jeremiah 17:5: Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. 6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. 7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
